Free D&D 5e & 5.5e (2024) Stat Block Generator for Dungeon Masters
This free tool supports both the 2014 Monster Manual (classic 5e) and the 2024 Monster Manual (5.5e) stat block formats. Toggle between editions using the button at the top of the editor — the fields update automatically to show what each edition requires.
2014 format includes all core fields: AC, HP, Speed, six ability scores with auto-calculated modifiers, saving throws, skills, damage vulnerabilities, damage resistances, damage immunities, condition immunities, senses, languages, challenge rating, proficiency bonus, traits, actions, bonus actions, reactions, legendary actions, lair actions, and regional effects.
2024 format adds: Initiative (explicitly listed), Gear (lootable items), combined Immunities block, Habitat and Treasure metadata, and Lair XP. All fields match the official layout used in the 2024 Monster Manual.
Choose Single Column for standard monsters or Two Column for long stat blocks like dragons and legendary creatures. Hit Export PNG for a 3× resolution image ready for Roll20, Foundry VTT, campaign documents, or the table. Free tool by The Crooked Tavern.
